Apprenticeship Podcast

In this episode of our podcast The Legal Lounge, Emma Harrison chats with Erin Payne (who has since left the firm) and Cameron Petch, who at the time were undertaking apprenticeships, asking what made them choose the apprenticeship route into law, what the advantages are, and their career aspirations.

Over the course of my apprenticeship at Lanyon Bowdler, the whole team were extremely supportive in providing me with opportunities and resources. I completed the Business Administration apprenticeship in August 2024. In this time I was able to develop my administrative knowledge and skills, and I’m excited to progress my career with the firm.

Testimonials

What our colleagues say.

Since starting with the firm as Sue’s legal assistant, I have been treated as an integral member of the team from the beginning. As a young professional at the start of my legal career, I did not expect to be trusted so readily with drafting documents, however I am delighted that I am being given the exposure early on so that I can throw myself in and develop my own style of working. I feel that the support I have received whilst undertaking my LPC alongside work has been phenomenal, and I am thankful that I made the decision to join the firm when I did.

A team where career progression is not only encouraged but happens. I have gone from a legal secretary in the Family Team to legal assistant and now to trainee solicitor within three years of being at Lanyon Bowdler, all whilst being supported in completing my legal studies. The Family Team are amazing and passionate individuals. Truly a supportive and friendly place to work!
